Culinary Sales Consultant

Sales Department Objectives Our team aims to secure strong business relationships and dominate the independent food sector. As a Culinary Sales Consultant, you will embody intellectual curiosity and strive for continuous improvement across all aspects of the business. You'll be accountable to high performance standards, building rapport with IGF's customers and vendors to deepen your product knowledge and refine effective placement strategies. Culinary Sales Consultant: Job Description Collaborate with team members to manage, expand, and compete for IGF's share of the food distribution market. Serve as product experts, working together to identify and seize sales opportunities. Meet and exceed individual and department targets and KPIs: Develop, manage, and grow IGF's customer base in designated markets. Proactively pursue new business through cold calling and follow-ups. Expand existing customer accounts to: Increase overall sales volume. Promote a broad range of IGF products. Enhance IGF's market share. Actively manage existing accounts: Maintain an accurate portfolio of accounts, including customer details and updates. Stay informed about customers' needs and businesses: Schedule in-person visits to check in and introduce new products. Develop and continuously enhance industry and product knowledge. Negotiate and manage terms and contracts: Coordinate with Accounts Receivable to secure contract terms and payment arrangements. Ensure timely collection of customer payments. Submit credit and product-return requests. Act as the main IGF contact for customers: Communicate effectively within the team to resolve service issues. Clearly convey issue resolutions to customers. Attend sales meetings as required. Comply with company and departmental policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications (Required) At least three years of hospitality or food industry experience. Proven success in food sales and services. Strong relationship-building skills with customers, vendors, and distribution channels. Ability to negotiate contracts and close deals effectively. Capable of working independently or as part of a team; adept at managing time and priorities. Willingness to travel up to 75% for client visits and 15% for out-of-market travel. Proactive problem-solver with quick thinking. Excellent organizational, communication, and data-entry skills, with a focus on customer relations; passionate about the food industry. Attention to detail with strong interpersonal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other tech tools. Must reside in the area with robust local connections. Qualifications (Preferred) Five or more years in hospitality or food industry. Bilingual communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and drive for hours, walk around client establishments. Capable of bending and lifting at least 40 lb. Involves sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands, arms, legs, eyes, and voice.
