Transportation Maintenance Worker – LandscapingThe City of Raleigh's Transportation department is seeking a dependable and motivated Transportation Maintenance Worker – Landscaping to support the maintenance and appearance of transportation corridors and public rights-of-way. This position focuses on landscaping, vegetation control, and grounds maintenance to ensure safe, clean, and visually appealing roadways and facilities.Joining our Transportation Maintenance Division will provide an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the maintenance of critical infrastructure such as sidewalks, curb and gutter, asphalt, medians, and storm drains. As a member of our 222-person staff, you will contribute to maintenance of 1,130 miles of streets and sidewalks; the upkeep of over 33,000 curb ramps; and the protection of 3.2 million linear feet of stormwater pipes connecting more than 32,000 drainage inlets.Within the Landscape Maintenance Unit you will be part of a team responsible for maintaining medians and rights-of-way throughout the City by trimming trees, bushes, and grass, and planting various trees and plants each season.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job.
