Registered Nurse Med-Surg Spine

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse for our Med‑Surg Spine unit. In this role, you will provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients with spinal conditions, post‑surgical spine cases, and related medical‑surgical needs. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for initial and ongoing patient assessments, developing and updating individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring for changes in patient status, and responding promptly to emergent situations. You will coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, physical and occupational therapists, case management, and other healthcare professionals to support safe, timely recovery and discharge planning. The position involves managing a varied patient assignment, utilizing evidence‑based nursing practice, and documenting all care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record. You will educate patients and families on surgical procedures, pain management, mobility and spine precautions, medications, and ongoing self‑care to promote optimal outcomes and reduce the risk of complications or readmissions.
