Clinical Nurse Coordinator Med Surg

Mission Health, a leading healthcare and medical services provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Medical-Surgical unit. In this role, you will function as both a direct-care Registered Nurse and a unit-based clinical leader, coordinating and overseeing safe, high-quality patient care for a diverse Med Surg patient population. Working within a collaborative and respectful culture that values teamwork and professional growth, you will serve as a clinical resource to bedside nurses and support staff, assist with patient assignments and staffing decisions, and help ensure adherence to evidence-based nursing standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator partners closely with physicians, therapists, case management, and ancillary departments to promote effective care coordination, smooth patient flow, and timely discharges in a patient-centered environment. Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring patients, administering medications and treatments, developing and updating care plans, and providing education to patients and their families. You will help precept and mentor new nurses, support ongoing staff education, and participate in performance improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality outcomes, and patient experience. As a key member of the leadership team on the Med Surg unit, you may assist with managing daily operations, responding to clinical emergencies, participating in bed management and throughput decisions, and escalating clinical or operational concerns as needed.
