Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Summary A well-established AV-rated Medical Malpractice Defense firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Winter Park, FL. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an attorney with litigation experience who is ready to take on meaningful case responsibility, work closely with experienced defense attorneys, and continue building a long-term legal career. Attorneys in this role will gain hands-on experience across all phases of litigation, including hearings, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation. Key Responsibilities Handle substantive litigation responsibilities across medical malpractice defense, professional liability, healthcare litigation, insurance defense, and related civil matters. Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, memoranda, and other legal documents. Attend hearings, conduct and defend depositions, and participate in case strategy development. Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and pretrial filings. Manage multiple case deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and responsive client communication. Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, legal staff, and clients to deliver effective defense representation. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: $100,000 to $150,000+ base salary, depending on experience. Bonus opportunity available. Direct hire opportunity. Location: Winter Park, FL. Required Qualifications and Skills Manage active litigation matters from initial pleadings through discovery, hearings, depositions, and trial preparation. Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery responses, and other legal documents with accuracy and persuasive legal analysis. Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and assist in developing litigation strategy. Support client service, case management, and deadline-driven litigation workflows. Active Florida Bar license required. 2 to 10 years of litigation experience required. Strong legal research and legal writing skills required. Writing sample required. Experience taking depositions and attending hearings required. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple matters, priorities, and deadlines effectively. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships. Team-oriented mindset with the confidence to take on significant litigation responsibility. Ability to work onsite in a professional office environment during training. Preferred Qualifications Prior medical malpractice defense experience. Insurance defense experience. Professional liability defense or healthcare defense experience. Experience independently handling litigation matters. Trial preparation experience. Demonstrated commitment to long-term professional growth and career development.
