ACCOUNTS PAYABLE ASSOCIATE

General Summary Match purchase orders to supplier invoices, process invoices for payment, reconcile vendor statements, and prepare various Excel reports to reconcile vendor statements to A/P balances. Essential Job Functions Prepare batches of invoices for data entry, match material purchase orders to supplier invoices, and post invoices in Accounts Payable. Analyze discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders and resolve vendor and/or invoice issues. Receive, review, and execute company payment requests. Reconcile vendor statements. Perform other accounts payable and clerical duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Intermediate to strong Excel skills. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real‑time challenges. Excellent organizational skills and ability to adhere to deadlines and follow up through completion. Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to create letters, memos, and basic reporting. Grasp of accounts payable function and workflow. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with support personnel, vendors, and management. Detail‑oriented to maintain a high standard of accuracy when entering invoice and payment information. Ability to manage multiple deadlines. Ability to conduct oneself ethically. Education and Experience Associate’s degree (preferred but not required with sufficient experience). Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounts payable position requiring extensive data entry skills. Strong Excel skills and experience are required. Working knowledge of JD Edwards or a similar ERP system preferred. Prior experience in the construction industry preferred. Other Requirements The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required and the employee must be able to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. No travel required.
