Location

The Elser Hotel & Residences is a 49-story luxury condominium hotel located in Downtown Miami. The newly completed tower offers 646 fully furnished rooms/residences, over 19,000 square feet of curated amenities and 5,000 square feet of prime retail space. Named after the iconic Elser Pier, which was built in the 1900s and became the premier place for locals and visitors to enjoy the magical shoreline of Biscayne Bay in downtown Miami, The Elser Hotel & Residences will continue this tradition. 

Overview

The Financial Analyst reports to the European Corporate Controller and is responsible for timely preparation, review and distribution of the monthly forecasts as well as the annual budget. This position will work very closely with the European revenue management team, operations team, and accounting teams to analyze trends and provide useful information on the portfolio’s financial performance so that real time decisions can be made more effectively. The Financial Analyst’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, timely, responsive and accurate completion of the following duties.

Responsibilities

Timely conduct analysis of revenues and expenses (variable and fixed overhead). This analysis will include actuals against budget, forecast, and prior year. Continually work with European leaders to identify opportunities for cost reductions and savings as compared to budget and most recent forecast. Compile and analyze financial reports to search for discrepancies that require senior management’s attention. Ensure the discrepancies are discussed with real time improvements put in place, up to and including forecast updates into the monthly forecastContinually build useful analysis reports (via use of our system technology) to help the team more quickly analyze and gain efficiencies not present today.Ensure forecasting accuracy achievedPerform the coordination and point person for the annual budget process, which includes a heavy coordination effort with all departments on the portfolio. Proactively analyzes the weekly a/r reports to minimize financial risk to the company. Proactively communicates all A/R issues and developments to management.Exercises tact and good judgment in employee communications. Maintains professionalism in dealing with difficult situations.Assists with special projects, including audit support as needed.

Qualifications

At least 4 years in financial forecasting and budgeting in a service based industry Hospitality or F&B industry strongly preferredBachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting preferredExperience within Oracle platform (specifically PBCS module within Oracle)Must have working knowledge of general accounting principles.High degree of accuracy and attention to detailStrong organization skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently with minimal supervisionOutstanding critical thinking and analytical skillsStrong desire to find value added info in the detailsException analytical skills and excel skillsMust display a positive and proactive attitude; and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships, often with key senior leadership of the European platformAbility to perform in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlinesAbility to work overtime as necessary to complete assigned duties
