The Quality Assurance Assistant Manager will support the Quality Assurance Manager in ensuring all products consistently meet company, customer, and regulatory quality and food safety standards. This position plays a key role in maintaining food safety programs, overseeing quality systems, supporting production operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility.

• Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for food quality and food safety.

• Identify opportunities to improve quality systems and food safety programs while partnering with Quality Assurance and Production teams.

• Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate Quality Control staff through audits, document reviews, and performance assessments.

• Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformances by conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Review production and quality documentation to ensure compliance and timely resolution of quality issues.

• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, customer requirements, GMP, HACCP, and BRC Food Safety Standards.

• Support and oversee prerequisite programs, including sanitation, pest control, supplier approval, allergen management, preventive maintenance, environmental monitoring, and product testing.

• Conduct internal quality and food safety audits while collaborating with cross-functional teams to strengthen quality systems.

• Monitor quality metrics and recommend process improvements to enhance product quality and food safety performance.

• Perform additional quality assurance and food safety responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of Quality Assurance and Food Safety management experience , preferably within a food manufacturing or sous vide production environment.

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Quality Assurance (QA)

  • Food Safety programs

  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

  • HACCP

  • BRC Food Safety Standards

  • Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)

  • FDA regulatory compliance

• Excellent organizational, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Experience working in a high-volume food manufacturing environment.

• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and quality management systems.

• Experience preparing for and supporting third-party or regulatory audits.
