Manage process related tooling in preparation for each production run. Trouble-shoot line operations. Issue and revise drawing and process sheets as a result of continuous improvement in the process. Develop and implement continuous improvement in capability and/or scrap reduction. Verify conformance of components to customer specifications. Analyze weekly production results, identify deficiencies and implement the necessary improvements. Work with operators to reduce defects, increase throughput and improve the products’ dimensional capability. Train operators how to safely and effectively operate plant equipment and machinery. REQUIRTEMENTS Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical recommended 2 to 5 years in manufacturing environment, glass assembly desired 6-Sigma – Green or Black Belt PLC experience preferred Fluent in use of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) OTHER REQUIREMENTS Proven track record of cost reduction in process manufacturing by means of equipment uptime, scrap reduction, cycle time improvement or downtime reduction. Comfortable working with cross-functional teams seeking best possible solutions for improvements. Must be hands-on. Valid driver’s license required for business travel. Experience with manufacturing equipment or assembly lines Solid understanding of Six Sigma, SPC, 5 Why, Pareto and other tools to improve and sustain production levels Proven understanding of tools, quality of product and ability to implement improvements to operations Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays KEY COMPETENCIES Effective written and verbal communication skills with all levels within the Company Strong analytical skills Project management skills with proven ability to execute on tasks and provide positive results Experienced in QAD System or similar – Order tracking, PO’s and Requisition Ability to analyze data to determine best course of action for process improvements.
