Physical Therapist

Position Overview Physical Therapist (Contract) Location: Utica, IL Schedule: M/W/F 8a-5p, Tu/Th 10a-7p Duration: 8/20-9/17 with possibility of extension (leave of absence coverage) Pay: $45-55/hr DOE Responsibilities Collaborate with Health Center staff—including doctors, NPs, PAs, nurses, dietitians, wellness coaches, and community providers—to promote health and wellness to onsite employees and their dependents. Provide physical therapy practice according to APTA professional standards, integrating current research, clinical reasoning, and patient values into assessment and treatment planning. Promote direct access to physical therapy services, allowing PTs to practice at their highest skill level. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication through Health Center meetings, patient care meetings, and documentation/reporting to onsite and community referral sources. Participate in continuing competence activities, including peer review, presentations, and optionally grand rounds. Work closely with client stakeholders—safety officers, ergonomists, human resources, and vendors—to promote employee safety in the workplace. Effect positive behavior change in the eligible population beyond the clinical setting by developing and administering injury prevention and health promotion presentations, workshops, and programs. Teach real‑time proper body mechanics at employees’ workstations. Assess and correct poor ergonomics. Develop and administer specific programs when a need is identified (e.g., musculoskeletal screens, preparation workshops, health back programs, stretch and flex classes). Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications All state licenses/certifications to practice located in the state of licensure. Degree from an accredited Physical/Occupational Therapy School. CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer) with a copy of the front and back of the card; must include hands‑on evaluation by trainer/instructor. Online courses alone are not accepted. At least three years of experience as a Physical Therapist in an outpatient or other ambulatory care clinic; outpatient orthopedic experience required.
