Job Description

Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary or middle school classroom near Marion, NC. This full-time contract position runs from ASAP through May 28, 2027, offering the chance to make a lasting difference across the school year. You'll work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, collaborating closely with a dedicated support team.

Your assignment may involve one of two dynamic classroom environments:

Elementary Structured Support:

Manage a caseload of 6 students
Provide toileting assistance as needed (no feeding needs)
Work alongside a Teaching Assistant and Behavior Technician
Support students with mild behavioral needs and individualized education plans

Middle School Co-Teaching:

Oversee a caseload of 11 students
One student has a feeding tube; toileting support required for some (no behavioral needs)
Enjoy the support of 3 full-time Teaching Assistants, an additional Teacher, and a 1:1 aide for a student with medical needs

Ideal candidates will have:

Current Special Education Teacher certification
Experience with structured support or co-teaching models
Understanding of working with elementary or middle school students with special needs
Skills in supporting students requiring toileting assistance and, if in the middle school setting, medical equipment (feeding tube)
Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities:

Deliver instruction tailored to diverse learning needs
Collaborate with classroom support staff to foster student growth
Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
Adapt teaching strategies to ensure student success
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
