In this role, you will contribute to projects spanning new construction, inspection, rehabilitation, and repair of transportation structures. You will serve as a key technical contributor, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting project delivery from concept through construction.Role AccountabilitiesServe as a design engineer for bridges and transportation structures, including new design, inspection, rehabilitation, and repairLead, assign, and review work while providing technical guidance to team membersDevelop engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and contract documentsEvaluate engineering alternatives and apply sound judgment in design decisionsCollaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecyclePrepare and present technical reports, documentation, and design deliverablesPerform structural analysis and design with increasing complexity under senior reviewProvide mentorship and oversight to junior structural engineers on small to mid-sized projectsCoordinate across disciplines (transportation, geotechnical, drainage, etc.) to ensure integrated solutionsQualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited)Minimum 7+ years of Bridge engineering experienceProfessional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee OR ability to obtain Tennessee PE within 6–12 monthsStrong experience in structural analysis and designWorking knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design SpecificationsExperience with Bentley software suite (e.g., OpenBridge, MicroStation)Proficiency with structural analysis tools (e.g., Midas, LEAP or similar)Strong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent working knowledge of relevant design codes including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.Preferred QualificationsDirect experience with Tennessee DOT (TDOT) standards and projectsExperience supporting design-build or alternative delivery projectsProven ability to coordinate with clients and lead technical discussionsExperience mentoring junior staff and contributing to team developmentWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $87,912 - $125,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
