Sales & Design Consultant

Resource Furniture, leader in high-end Italian-made transforming furniture, is currently seeking a highly experienced and driven Sales & Design Consultant to join our team in our New York Showroom - 969 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022.

The ideal candidate will have a proven background in sales (ideally within the high-end furniture or kitchen and bath), be results-oriented, and have a passion for interior design.

To best serve our clients and to meet and exceed sales goals, the Sales & Design Consultant will typically work in our Showroom 5-days per week including a Saturday shift. Additional Marketing and Sales events hosted in our Showroom, as well as other industry networking events may occur outside of our typical Showroom hours.

Sales and Consultation:

• Develop and nurture strong relationships with clients, architects, interior designers, and other industry professionals.
• Act as a knowledgeable resource for clients, offering expert advice on our range of furniture, design possibilities, and space optimization solutions.
• Conduct comprehensive product presentations and consultations to showcase the benefits and features of our furniture offerings.
• Understand client requirements, preferences, and budget to provide tailored recommendations and design solutions.
• Negotiate and successfully close sales, ensuring customer satisfaction and maximizing revenue opportunities.

Design and Space Planning:

• Utilize proprietary CAD software to create 3D design layouts for clients, incorporating our furniture solutions seamlessly into their spaces.
• Collaborate closely with clients, architects, and interior designers to develop functional and aesthetically pleasing furniture layouts.
• Deliver renderings including measurement specifications to clients, ensuring clear communication of design concepts and product requirements.
• Offer innovative design solutions that optimize space utilization, functionality, and visual appeal.

Product Knowledge and Expertise:

• Maintain a deep understanding of our company's collection, staying updated with new releases, features, functionality and specifications.
• Continuously expand your knowledge of interior design trends, furniture industry developments, and emerging technologies.
• Conduct thorough research and actively participate in industry events to network and stay to informed about competitors' offerings and market dynamics.

Requirements:

• Extensive sales experience within the high-end furniture or interior design industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and maintain relationships with a diverse clientele.
• Demonstrated ability to understand client needs and effectively translate them into design solutions.
• Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and client requirements.
• Knowledge of interior design principles and trends.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Knowledge of NetSuite and Excel highly desirable.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefit package including:

• Annual base salary ($50,000.00)
• 3% commission on every sale. Commissions are paid out monthly after order placement
• Guaranteed total compensation of $100,000.00 for the first 12 months of employment if base + commission + bonuses do not exceed this amount; paid out at the 12 month mark. In second year base + commission + bonuses are expected to well surpass and the salary guarantee will be eliminated.
