BOOKKEEPER/ACCOUNTANT

Location:  Albany, Georgia

Dept:  Accounting

Employment Type:  Full-Time Salaried

Reports to:  General Manager

Salary Range:  $65,000 – 80,000 DOE

Job Summary:

We're looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Accountant to manage our day-to-day financial records and ensure accurate, up-to-date accounts.  You'll be the backbone of our financial operations, keeping the books clean so leadership can make informed decisions with confidence for our Private Family-owned farm.  This role will also use their knowledge to support the General Manager with spreadsheets, analytics, and other administrative office duties, as necessary.

Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.

·         Record financial transactions and reconcile bank statements.

·         Provide staff with general administrative support, solutions and resources (office services).

·         Process invoices and payments.

·         Highlight discrepancies in company records and research possible reasons for error or differences

in expected versus actual account balances.

·         Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

·         Assist with budget preparation and tracking.

·         Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies .

·         Manage vendor relationships and resolve billing discrepancies.

Required Skills/Abilities:

·         Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software specifically Excel.

·         Excellent data entry skills

·      Work respectfully and discreetly around the property owners, family members and guests,

while maintaining full confidentiality at all times.

Education and Experience:

·         Some college level courses are desirable or a combination of Education and Experience.

·         At least five years related experience required.

·         Prior work experience of farming or planation work is desired but not necessary.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  Ability to work alone without supervision.  Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
