Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking HR support and guidance. This role is responsible for supporting a broad range of human resources functions, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, HR recordkeeping, performance management support, and policy interpretation.

The initial focus of this position will be on recruiting and talent acquisition, helping the organization attract, screen, and hire qualified candidates while also supporting day-to-day HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Support & HR Administration
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions related to HR policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, time off, and general workplace matters.
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers in a professional, confidential, and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR files are complete and compliant.
- Assist with the development, communication, and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and help foster a positive workplace culture.

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
- Support full-cycle recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate sourcing, resume screening, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
- Conduct initial candidate interviews and assist with evaluating applicant qualifications.
- Coordinate background checks, offer letters, and pre-employment requirements.
- Maintain applicant tracking records and support recruiting metrics and reporting.
- Help improve recruiting processes and candidate experience.

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle
- Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding, orientation, and required employment documentation.
- Ensure new employees have a smooth transition into the organization.
- Support employee changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Assist with offboarding processes, including exit interviews and final documentation.

Benefits, Payroll & Compliance Support
- Assist employees with benefits-related questions and enrollment processes.
- Partner with payroll as needed to ensure employee information is accurate and up to date.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Assist with required reporting, audits, and HR compliance initiatives.

Employee Relations & Performance Support
- Provide support for employee relations matters, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Assist managers with performance management processes, documentation, and employee communication.
- Help coordinate training, development, and performance review activities.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Direct work experience in lieu of degree will be considered. 
- 2+ years of experience in human resources, recruiting, or a related role.
- Experience with recruiting, onboarding, and employee support strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of general HR practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office.

Required Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required; bilingual fluency in Mandarin Chinese is highly desired

Working hours
Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 5:30pm & Friday 7:30am - 11:30am
