Conflicts Attorney

A high profile litigation boutique is hiring a Conflicts & Risk Attorney into its GC's office, reporting directly to the Deputy GC. 4+ years licensed, base $165K–$225K depending on experience, unlimited PTO, hybrid in DC or NY. The firm has grown fast and needs someone dedicated to owning conflicts and new matter intake. Leadership is stretched thin, so you'd take real ownership — not backfill. What you'll own: Running conflicts and new matter intake end to end — resolving conflicts, client KYC, and rebuilding the process as the firm scales Advising partners and associates directly on conflicts, ethics, and regulatory compliance under the Model Rules Reviewing engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, and vendor agreements; drafting conflict waivers Clearing lateral partner conflicts and running clean onboarding and matter openings Standing up automation and new procedures Supporting professional liability insurance renewals and claims Who actually fits: This is a lean, entrepreneurial shop — startup energy, shifting priorities, all hands when it's busy. Conflicts, risk, or compliance background is preferred, but strong hires have also come from government and JD preferred roles outside practice. 4+ years licensed; a job hop or two is fine if it makes sense.
