Bookkeeper/Accountant Position

We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented bookkeeper/accountant to oversee financial functions for a well known property management firm in the Greater Hartford region.

This key role involves managing all aspects of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess 3+ years of accounting, demonstrating proficiency with various accounting software platforms and a deep understanding of financial concepts.

This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity working Mon-Fri. The salary range is $60,000-70,000 per year. An exciting and comprehensive benefits plan including health insurance with an employee contribution, 3 weeks PTO, paid holidays, 401k & more is offered.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Ledger & Financial Reporting: Maintain the general ledger, post adjustments, perform month-end closings, and prepare accurate, timely financial statements monthly.
• Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage full-cycle A/P (invoicing and vendor payments) and A/R (applying monthly charges, post & proof daily deposits, apply late fees, create statements and collections).
• Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements monthly.
• Taxes: Process tax deposits and prepare 1099s.
• Administrative: Oversee maintain financial records and assist with audits

What You Bring to the Table:

• Professional Experience: 3+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience. If you've worked in the automotive repair or service industry, that's a major plus!
• Software Adaptability: Software proficiency: High-level expertise in accounting software like QuickBooks or Xero, and Microsoft Excel.
• Education: High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting/finance is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and full-cycle accounting.
