Human Resources Specialist

2+ years of current HR experience with a strong focus on Employee Relations, including progressive discipline, performance management, workplace investigations, and coaching in a corporate environment. Working knowledge of employment laws, guidelines, and other applicable local, State, and Federal laws with the ability to apply this knowledge to employee relations decisions. Strong experience drafting and reviewing employee relations documentation (disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, investigation summaries) with attention to accuracy, consistency, and legal/compliance considerations. Demonstrated ability to foster positive employee relations and partner with management to drive HR and business initiatives. Bachelor’s Degree or currently pursuing degree in HR Management or current SHRM Certification (PHR, SPHR, or GPHR). Proficiency with HRIS systems is a plus. Intermediate skills in programs such as MS Word and Outlook. Proficiency in Excel (must know how to use IF statements, create complex formulas, perform VLOOKUP’s, countifs, conditional formatting, pivot tables, and reports. Must have advanced written and verbal communication skills both in English and Spanish to communicate at different levels throughout the organization and with exterior organizations, candidates, etc. Must have the ability to communicate in English/Spanish Possess organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and be detail-oriented. Possess high energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities, work independently with limited supervision, multitask, and possess strong initiative. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and fellow employees. Must be able to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment. Experience in a high-volume or operational environment managing multiple employee relations cases simultaneously is strongly preferred. Prior experience preparing for litigation and dealing with counsel requests.
