Utilization Management Summer Intern

Shield HealthCare is looking for a Utilization Management Summer Intern in our Valencia, CA corporate office to process documents within specified software supporting order processing, documentation, and customer needs. This role will also support interdepartmental cross-functionality with exposure to the Utilization Management Customer Support team. This is an on-site position in Valencia, CA. Job Responsibilities Process prescription responses received from clinicians. Process authorization responses received from insurance plans. Review clinicals, completing data entry and achieving documents in specified programs and locations. Complete document staging for authorization renewals. Process failed faxes. Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, scanning, document preparation, and record organization. Support cross-functional projects and initiatives as assigned. Assist in documenting workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices. Qualifications Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in business administration, communications, marketing, healthcare administration, health sciences, or a related field. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Teams). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Organized with the ability to work accurately, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines. Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Demonstrated problem solving ability. Data entry experience preferred. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Salary $18.47/hour #J-18808-Ljbffr
