SEASONAL MAINTENANCE WORKER

Seasonal Maintenance WorkerRiverton City is seeking Seasonal Maintenance Workers in the Parks, Water, and Streets divisions in the Public Works Department. These positions offer flexible schedules: up to 20 hours per week for up to 12 months, or up to 40 hours per week for up to 5.5 months. Schedules can be arranged around school classes.Seasonal Maintenance Workers are responsible for upkeep and maintenance of City parks, park strips, the cemetery, recreation facilities, and other City properties. Please note, these are non-benefited positions.Examples of duties:Routine maintenance and cleaning of park facilitiesRoutine cleaning of park restroomsRepair and maintenance of equipmentSeasonal repairs and maintenance of irrigation systemsSeasonal snow plowing and snow shovelingSeasonal weed abatement on city propertiesSeasonal assistants with water flushingAny other responsibilities that would be required to maintain effective operations of the departmentMinimum qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not requiredKnowledge, skills & abilities:Ability to follow oral and written instructionsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other employeesAbility to perform manual laborAbility and willingness to work outside in various environmental exposuresSpecial requirements:Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test, a background screen (if 18 years of age or older), provide a current copy of their driving record, pass a Human Performance Evaluation (HPE), be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and complete Form I-9 employment eligibility verification.Riverton City is an equal opportunity employer.
