Position Summary

Plan, layout, assemble, and install fire sprinkler piping and related materials to the specifications of engineering/design, architectural, and structural blueprints. THIS POSITION PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR ENTRY LEVEL WORKERS TO LEARN ON THE JOB.

Entry level, Intermediate, Skilled

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Read and interpret engineering/design, architectural, and structural blueprints and plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications.
• Select pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports and hangers, for layout and installation.
• Perform cutting, fitting, and pipe connection using threaded, soldered, brazed, or grooved joints and utilizing a variety of hand tools.
• Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipe lines, using pressure gauge, observation, or other methods.
• Install hydraulic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps
• Complete required paperwork/reports on each job including daily time, progress, duration, record of parts, material, labor, subs, returns, and other cost data per assignment

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. No experience required for entry-level. Previous years of experience in the field or in a related area required for intermediate to skilled level.
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

Requirements

• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft).
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime and weekends as required by the workload.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
• All candidates offered a position must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Base Compensation: $18.00 to $39.00 per hour
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
