This direct hire opportunity seeks a Clinical Pharmacist II to provide advanced pharmacy services in a hospital inpatient setting. Working a 7-on/7-off night schedule with shift differential, this role offers clinical engagement in dynamic units such as the emergency department and intensive care unit.

Responsibilities include independently verifying medication orders, participating in multidisciplinary patient rounds, and optimizing therapeutic outcomes through clinical interventions. The pharmacist will also conduct medication reconciliations, provide patient counseling, and respond to drug information inquiries. A key component of the role involves sterile compounding of IV admixtures and compounded sterile products, adhering to USP standards and facility protocols, while training pharmacy technicians involved in sterile preparations.

This position supports the PGY1 pharmacy residency program through educational activities, precepting, evaluations, and mentoring pharmacy students to foster clinical excellence. Additional duties include contributing to medication safety initiatives, quality improvement efforts, and compliance with New York State and federal pharmacy regulations.

Qualifications:

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
• Active New York State pharmacist license in good standing
• 1–3 years hospital pharmacy experience, including clinical pharmacy roles in ED, ICU, or specialty units
• Completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency
• Board certification from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) preferred
• Strong clinical pharmacotherapy knowledge and medication management skills
• Experience and interest in precepting pharmacy residents and students

Schedule:

• 7 days on, 7 days off – night shifts (with shift differential)

• Utica, NY (direct hire position)
