Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant–Certified (PA-C) – Pain ManagementThe Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant–Certified (PA-C) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care in an interventional pain management setting. This role focuses on evaluating and managing patients with acute and chronic pain conditions while collaborating closely with pain management physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform detailed pain-focused patient evaluations, including medical history, physical examinations, and functional assessmentsDiagnose and manage acute and chronic pain conditions in accordance with established pain management protocolsDevelop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans, including interventional and non-interventional therapiesOrder, review, and interpret diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests, and other studies related to pain managementPrescribe medications in compliance with state regulations and practice guidelines, including non-opioid and adjunctive therapiesProvide pre-procedure and post-procedure evaluations and patient educationDocument all patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans accurately and timely in the electronic medical recordEducate patients and families on pain conditions, treatment options, risks, benefits, and expected outcomesCollaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient careAdhere to pain management compliance standards, quality measures, and infection control policiesRespond appropriately and effectively in urgent or emergent clinical situationsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings as assignedRequired QualificationsGraduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant programCurrent national certification as a Nurse Practitioner or PA-CActive, unrestricted NP or PA license in the practicing stateBasic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification (ACLS preferred)Intermediate proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systemsKnowledge of word processing and clinical software applicationsSkills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesStrong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills with a pain management focusKnowledge of musculoskeletal, neurologic, and spine-related conditionsUnderstanding of pain management medications, including indications, contraindications, dosing, and side effectsFamiliarity with opioid stewardship principles and regulatory requirementsAbility to assess functional limitations and treatment responseAbility to educate patients on interventional procedures, conservative therapies, and lifestyle modificationsEffective communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teamsAbility to make sound clinical and administrative decisions within scope of practiceKnowledge of accreditation, certification, and compliance requirements related to pain managementAbility to remain calm and effective in high-pressure or emergency situationsAwareness of current and emerging trends in interventional pain management techniques and technologiesWork EnvironmentThis position functions in a fast-paced pain management clinic and procedural environment requiring professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
