Overview We are seeking a seasoned insurance professional to lead underwriting strategy and execution for a designated Line of Business (LoB). This role involves underwriting new and renewal accounts to meet financial targets, managing complex referrals, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Responsibilities Develop and execute regional underwriting strategy for the LoB in collaboration with Market Management, Claims and other product lines. Underwrite new and renewal accounts to achieve top and bottom line targets. Negotiate price, terms and conditions with producers. Proactively manage capacity. Underwrite and evaluate natural catastrophe accumulation, interpreting catastrophe modeling scenarios. Ensure accurate policy documentation and contract certainty at inception. Place and bind FAC reinsurance prior to policy inception. Underwrite in line with LoB governance framework, including underwriting authorities, global MSU, guidelines, rules and principles. Support policy administration and credit control processes. Train, develop and coach less experienced staff, including underwriters. Support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business. Manage complex referrals from underwriters and re‑underwrite complex business as appropriate. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, clients and other stakeholders. Required Skills and Abilities 4-12 years experience with a proven track record underwriting profitable business in the LoB. Deep understanding of LoB products and portfolio. Established relationships with brokers at peer group level and within the market. Understanding of regional/local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape. Education and Experience College degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management or Business Administration. Completion of a professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII) is preferred. Compensation & Benefits The base salary range for SanFrancisco, CA is $148,614–$201,066 per year, with incentive eligibility. Total individual compensation may include short‑ and long‑term incentives.
