As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Healthcare Rounds in Newark, NJ , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $22.13 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Wed 03:00 PM - 11:30 PM How This Role Works: Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities: Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and reporting details to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership. Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including entrances, hallways, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns. Assist with monitoring access points, directing visitors to appropriate areas, and helping to support an orderly environment within a busy healthcare location. Document incidents, observations, and/or maintenance or security-related concerns in a timely manner according to post orders and Allied Universal procedures. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 21 years of age. Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED. Have 2+ years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field. Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred. Meet hospital vaccine requirements. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
