Purchasing Analyst

Purchasing Analyst | Location: Springfield, MA | Contract | Pay Range $30-$33 per hour

A Purchasing Analyst role focused on procurement operations within a fast-paced environment, supporting strategic sourcing, vendor management, and data integrity. This position involves managing the full purchasing cycle, including requisitions, RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and purchase orders, with an emphasis on compliance and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and ensure adherence to purchasing guidelines, company policies, and strategic objectives.
• Manage RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs to support business project needs, including sourcing and evaluating vendors.
• Source new product streams, acquire vendors, and develop innovative procurement strategies.
• Oversee data management related to purchases and contracts, and contribute to developing purchasing standard methodologies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and optimize procurement workflows.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience, including management of RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, requisitions, and purchase orders.
• Strong command of purchasing management fundamentals.
• Advanced computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and Adobe Pro.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Ability to work on-site in Springfield, MA, and manage multiple priorities independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Infor Lawson ERP systems.
• Background in utility industry or similar regulated environments.
• Vendor negotiation and cost reduction experience.
• Familiarity with managing logistics and international procurement documentation.
