Senior Director, Head of Center Engagement - Heme/Cell & Genetic Therapies - East and West

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Director to lead field-based customer engagement across hematology and gene therapy in the western United States. The role involves managing field teams, translating business strategy into execution, and optimizing coordination across treatment centers and providers to sustain commercial momentum.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, develop, and manage field teams including Gene Therapy Account Managers and Hematology Territory Managers
• Execute national hematology field strategy across treatment centers, referring providers, and community territories
• Translate business priorities into clear field objectives, account plans, and measurable performance outcomes
• Oversee day-to-day field execution including customer engagement, territory planning, and cross-functional coordination
• Build team capability through onboarding, training, leadership development, and continuous performance feedback

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
• 12 years combined education and professional experience
• 7 years healthcare industry experience
• 3 years people management and team leadership experience
• Knowledge of cGMP, FDA compliance, and manufacturing guidelines
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in account management or medical affairs

Compensation: $228,000 - $342,000 base
