Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift cardiac ICU position requiring dual vent patient management and multiple drip titrations.

Details

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting with cardiac patient population
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Weekend shifts required
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Must be able to manage two ventilated patients while multitasking multiple drip titrations
• Epic charting system preferred
• Floating to like units within scope required, based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided

Requirements

• Active KS or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required in hand at time of consideration
• CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
• 2 years of experience preferred, with 1 year of current dedicated ICU experience within the past 2-3 years
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, CRRT, and management of dysrhythmias
• Cardiac-specific skills preferred including CABG, Impella, IABP, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and Swan Ganz monitoring
• Experience with CVA/stroke management, hypothermia protocol, and multisystem organ dysfunction management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients requiring complex ventilator and hemodynamic management
• First-time travelers accepted for this unit
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• Former facility staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
