Human Resources (HR) Generalist

Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations and help foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture. This role is ideal for a human resources professional who enjoys balancing employee relations, recruiting, compliance, benefits administration, and HR operations in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.The HR Generalist will work closely with leadership and staff to support key HR functions, ensure compliance with employment policies and regulations, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister core human resources functions, including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and HR policy supportAssist with recruitment efforts, including posting jobs, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and facilitating hiring processesMaintain employee records and HRIS data, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and complianceSupport benefits enrollment, leave administration, and employee questions related to policies and programsPartner with managers on performance management, employee coaching, and workplace concernsHelp ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as internal policies and nonprofit-specific employment practicesCoordinate employee onboarding and orientation to create a positive new-hire experienceSupport training, engagement, and retention initiatives aligned with the organization’s mission and valuesPrepare HR reports, track key personnel data, and assist with audits and documentationContribute to process improvements that enhance HR service delivery and employee experience
