Traveling Field Service Technician

We are seeking a Regional IT Support Lead to serve as the highest level of onsite technical support across multiple facilities nationwide. This is not a traditional field service role. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted representative of Corporate IT, providing advanced troubleshooting, leading deployments, coordinating resources, and serving as the primary technical contact for local leadership and support teams.

This person will be responsible for resolving complex technical issues that local support teams cannot address, while also supporting strategic IT initiatives, hardware refreshes, asset management efforts, system deployments, and infrastructure upgrades. The right candidate will be highly independent, customer-focused, and capable of making sound technical decisions in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve advanced hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues.

Serve as the escalation point for Tier 1 support teams and local field technicians.

Perform hardware break/fix repairs, upgrades, replacements, and device refreshes.

Coordinate large-scale deployments, migrations, and technology rollouts across multiple locations.

Manage IT asset inventories, device lifecycle activities, auditing, tagging, and e-cycling efforts.

Partner with Corporate IT, facility leadership, vendors, and third-party contractors to execute projects and resolve technical issues.

Document activities, update ticketing systems, and maintain accurate project and support records.

Assess site needs, identify risks, recommend solutions, and drive issues through resolution.

Represent Corporate IT professionally while supporting leadership, end users, and local IT teams.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of desktop support, field services, endpoint support, or infrastructure support experience.

Strong experience troubleshooting Windows operating systems, hardware, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.

Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, VPN, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, and endpoint management.

Hardware break/fix experience including laptops, desktops, memory, drives, motherboards, and related components.

Experience supporting deployments, refresh projects, migrations, and asset management initiatives.

Strong customer service and communication skills, including experience supporting leadership and executive-level users.

Ability to travel extensively nationwide, including overnight stays and short-notice travel.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record. CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, MCSE, Dell, HP, or similar certifications.

SCCM, Intune, ServiceNow, or MDM experience.

ITIL knowledge and experience following support processes.

Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, or cross-functional technical teams.

Previous lead, supervisory, or project coordination experience.
