Cybersecurity Specialist

GALT Aerospace is seeking a full-time, hourly Cybersecurity Specialist to handle the following responsibilities:

o Collect data on current security measures for risk analysis, and write systems status reports regularly

o Monitoring systems for unusual activity, analyzing security events, and identifying potential threats

o Responding to security incidents, containing breaches, and investigating the root cause

o Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies

o Perform security threat hunting, analysis, and response utilizing the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool and other Department tools

o Collaborate with other members of the IT and Security teams to develop new protocols, layers of protection, and other proactive and defensive systems for remaining ahead of cybercriminals

o Monitor access-related activities for authorized users, and check for unregistered information changes

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

o At least 1 year of experience in cybersecurity

o Basic knowledge of IT, including hardware, software, and networks

o Familiarity with NIST SP800-53, SP800-37, and SP800-171oU

o Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principles

o Meticulous eye for detail and an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

o Strong abilities in critical thinking, problem-solving, logic, and forensics

o U.S. Citizenship

o Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearance

o Strong critical and analytical thinking

o Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure

Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:

o Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information systems, information technology, or related field

o Cybersecurity Certifications

o Experience with Kali Linux

o The ability to think like a hacker in order to stay ahead of threats

o Secret Clearance preferred

o Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment

o Ability to work in a collaborative environment

o Strong oral and written communications skills

Physical Requirements:

o Must be able to carry 25 pounds

o Must be able to sit or stand for 1-2 hours at a time

o The person in this position needs to occasionally move about the facility

o Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery

Pay Scale:

At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of the total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $40-$50 per hour, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
