Paralegal - Commercial Real Estate

SUMMARY

Commercial Real Estate Paralegals work very closely with the other General Practice Paralegals and the Firm's lawyers, outside counsel and clients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Preparing signature pages, supervising client signatures, and notarizing documents in preparation for closings.
• Preparing for and supporting pre-closings and closings.
• Preparing deeds, assignments, affidavits and tax forms.

• Conduct precedent research and analysis utilizing internal and external resources, as directed by supervising lawyers

• Search for and reviewing due diligence materials.
• Preparing RISMs and closing documents.

• Assist with special projects supporting the Firm's practice development, knowledge management and business development initiatives

G ENERAL CORPORATE TASKS

• Forming corporate entities (i.e., limited liability companies, limited partnerships and corporations).
• Qualifying corporate entities to do business.
• Drafting corporate resolutions and UCCs.
• Interfacing with corporate service providers such as CSC and CT Corporation to obtain corporate proofs.

In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm's information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of legal/paralegal environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to work under pressure and multitask when required.
• High degree of initiative and self-motivation.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Prior legal experience is beneficial but not required.

The base salary range offered for this role will be $61,000. When determining a candidate's compensation offer, elements unique to each person are taken into consideration including but not limited to skill set, experience level, performance, professional certifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the Firm.
