Job Summary:

The Automotive Mechanic II will remove components, modify vehicles, install new components, and perform functional tests on cars and trucks in a production environment while performing a wide range of second stage manufacturing operations. The Automotive Mechanic II will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Disassemble, modify and install components per provided work instructions or leader instructions.

• Remove and reinstall mechanical and electrical system components and perform minor body fabrication using supplied fixtures and templates.

• Read, interpret, and follow assembly work instructions.

• Maintain all required assembly documentation including component serial numbers and torque specs as required.

• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.

• Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.

Education and Experience (required):

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Mechanic.

• Knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.

• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Has own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekends.

• Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures.

Education and Experience (preferred):

• Certificate in Automotive Technology or related.

• National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).

• State Mechanic Certification(s).

• Valid driver"s license.

• Knowledge vehicle electronics, A.C. systems, cooling systems and general repairs.
