Speech/Language Pathologist

Position Details Position Type: Per Diem. Shift: Day. Location: CentraState Medical Center, Freehold, NJ. Overview CentraState Healthcare System, headquartered in Freehold, New Jersey, is a leading nonprofit healthcare provider dedicated to serving the community. The role is for a Speech/Language Pathologist responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatients and outpatients who exhibit speech, language, hearing, or swallowing disorders, as well as patient and family counseling and appropriate referrals. Responsibilities Effectively evaluates the patient's performance in communicative disorders. Develops appropriate therapeutic plan based on patient assessment and physician's orders. Observes patient/resident progress and updates plan as indicated. Provides therapy for all types of speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders. Coordinates care plan with other healthcare providers. Provides education to the patient/family regarding the disease processes and planned treatment/intervention; offers instruction in health promotion, activity and medication as appropriate. Evaluates the patient's progress, goal attainment and need for further services following discharge. Documents results of diagnostic evaluations, care plan and resident progress in medical record. Maintains productivity within guidelines set by department. Qualifications Master's degree in speech pathology required. Minimum one year of experience in rehabilitation with adult speech/language-impaired populations preferred. NJ Speech Pathology license required. CCC‑SLP required. Strong customer service skills. The compensation above reflects the established range from CentraState Healthcare System (CSHS) for this position at the time the job was posted. CSHS considers many factors to determine compensation, including education, experience, skills, licenses, certification, and training. As such, team member compensation may fall outside this range. Additionally, the compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.
