As a General Surgeon within the Army's healthcare team, you will be engaged in cutting-edge medical and surgical practices, performing a diverse array of procedures. The innovations spearheaded by the Army Medical Department enhance patient outcomes and transform medical practices, ranging from pioneering regenerative medicine to creating 3-D anatomical models that aid in surgical planning both before and after operations. Your responsibilities will include examining patients, diagnosing conditions, consulting on treatment plans, and conducting surgeries for soldiers, retirees, and their families. • Candidates must be eligible for board certification.

• Completion of at least one year of an approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship is required.

• A completed training program in general surgery is mandatory.

• U.S. citizenship is required for those serving on Active Duty.

• A permanent U.S. residency is necessary for those in the Army Reserve.
