Certified Top Workplaces- 5 years running!Compensation Range: $16.90 - $21.15/Hour *Range(s) based on experience and qualifications.PurposeThe line cook is responsible for setting up and stocking assigned stations with all necessary supplies, preparing food for service, and cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepare all restaurant foodsDemonstrate knowledge in all areas of the kitchenRead, measure and execute recipesRead and execute computer tickets for serviceApply knife skills required for service and preparation Maintain a solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentationAssist Chefs as needed in execution of serviceCommunicate with management, chefs and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employeesMove furniture as directed by management, including but not limited to: tables, chairs, bar stools, banquettes, bar tables, boxes, and equipmentComply with all safety and health department proceduresMaintain company safety and sanitation standardsEnsure complete and proper check out proceduresClean all spills immediately and place all trash in proper receptaclesInform management of any complaint, comments or incidentEnsure nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completedRecord and report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to management immediatelyAssists and/ or completes additional tasks as assignedQualifications & SkillsHigh School Diploma preferredProof of eligibility to work in the United StatesValid Driver's License18+ years of agePossession of or the ability to possess all state required work cardsMinimum of two (2) years related experienceAdvanced knife skillsProper food storage knowledgeProper lifting techniquesGuest relationsSanitation and safetyFull service kitchen operationsAbility to communicate effectively and assertively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff, clients, and the publicWorking ConditionsWork indoors and/or outdoors, exposed to hot and/or cold surfaces, steam, and wet floorsWork in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends upon guest volumeFast paced, high volume, full service restaurantWork varied shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidaysPhysical RequirementsAbility to walk long periods of timeAbility to stand for long periods of timeAbility to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.Ability to repeat the same movements for long periods of timeAbility to understand the speech of another personAbility to speak clearly so listeners can understandAbility to push and lift up to 50 lbsAbility to reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlDisclaimerThis job description is a summary of duties, which you as a Line Cook are expected to perform in your normal course of work.
