Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Engineer – Industrial Clean Tech . Reporting to the Metals group, you will support offices globally working from our Pittsburgh, PA office location.

Qualifications:

• Roles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be university/college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills
• Preferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering
• Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Evaluate Process Alternatives and Equipment/Technology Selection

• Analyze existing equipment operational data to improve processes (in terms of throughput and/or cost)

• Participate in studies and projects in the metals and minerals industry with a focus on gas handling and mine ventilation
• Perform mass and energy balance calculations and prepare process flow diagrams
• Prepare design calculations, documentation and develop technical specifications for purchase of a wide range of gas handling and mine ventilation, heating, and cooling equipment
• Perform technical bid analysis and recommendations.
• Participate in trade-off studies evaluating process alternatives and/or equipment/technology selection
• Perform data analysis and computer simulation using specialty software.
• Travel and perform on site measurements
• Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team
• Participate in equipment design reviews and plant layout development
• Provide inputs to capital and operating cost estimates
• Participate in process hazard review studies (e.g. HAZID / HAZOP)
• Prepare technical reports and presentations
• Contribute to proposal development and winning work
• Attend meetings and collaborate with client teams

• Perform assignments related to your sector
• Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
• Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
• Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
• Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
