Remote Senior Tax Manager Real Estate & Partnerships

(REMOTE) - Tax Senior Manager Opportunity (Tax & Accounting) Our client is a highly respected public accounting firm specializing in UHNW, HNW, multifamily and Commercial Real Estate who are seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join the leadership team. The firm is headquartered in Encino, CA (outside of Los Angeles) but this position is FULLY REMOTE. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience, strong technical capabilities, and a collaborative leadership style—especially important as many team members work remotely. The tax group completes over 3,000 returns annually, and the incoming Tax Senior Manager will play a central role in maintaining quality, efficiency, and team alignment. Compensation & Vesting Bonus: Discretionary, paid twice per year (May & January) Equity Partner-track opportunity with clear succession plans Primary Responsibilities: Review and prepare accounting workpapers and tax returns, including partnership, S corporation, C corporation, trust, and individual (1040) returns. Manage client relationships, including client groups with multiple entities (up to 100+ entities). Apply advanced knowledge of multi-state tax issues, 1031 exchanges, Section 163(j) limitations, Qualified Business Income (QBI) deductions, Section 704(b) target allocation rules, allocations of nonrecourse debt, Section 754 step-ups, and cost segregation studies. Provide tax planning services and manage special projects requiring analysis, judgment, and creative problem-solving. Primarily review complex real estate partnership returns, with occasional preparation responsibilities as needed. Handle federal and state tax audits and assist with tax controversy matters. Oversee and train staff, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and professional development. Required Qualifications: Active CPA-License 8+ years of tax experience (public accounting preferred) Strong partnership tax expertise, including capital account maintenance under Section 704(b), 1031 exchanges, Section 754 elections, Section 163(j), Section 199A (QBI), and Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET).
