As a Security Officer Entry Control in Norfolk, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer supporting a dynamic campus location, where you will help monitor entry points, verify credentials, and assist students, staff, and visitors with professionalism and care. In this role, you will help support security-related protocols, remain visible, and communicate clearly while reflecting our values of teamwork, integrity, reliability, and innovation in a people-first environment.

Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at entry and exit points within an educational location.
• Monitor access control points by checking identification, verifying authorized entry, issuing visitor directions, and maintaining required logs and/or reports for students, staff, visitors, and vendors.
• Respond to incidents, policy violations, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned buildings, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized access and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
