Hub Maintenance Manager MX

Regional Fleet Maintenance Manager Clean Harbors is seeking a Regional Fleet Maintenance Manager to be located in either Charlotte, NC or Sumter, SC. The Regional Fleet Maintenance Manager reports to the Director of Fleet Operations and leads the health, safety, and welfare of technicians, planners, and inventory coordinators. This responsibility includes budgeting, scheduling, training, safety compliance, and customer relationships. This role requires 50% travel and works closely with Area Managers to support business needs and implement company‑wide maintenance strategy, including preventative maintenance schedules, campaigns, recalls, diagnostics, and equipment specification. Responsibilities Ensuring that health and safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes. Managing all aspects of the maintenance hub and spoke sites in accordance with the region's business plan and budget. Recruiting, training, and professionally developing employees. Maximizing the company's return on investment for all fleet assets (equipment and vehicles) by planning, managing, and directing all activities associated with maintenance in the hub. Working closely with Area Managers and Branch Managers to support business needs and to implement company‑wide maintenance strategy. Managing repairs to ensure maximum uptime so the branch can meet customer demands, utilizing overtime and outsourcing vendors where necessary. Evaluating vehicles and equipment with respect to replacement or refurbishment due to age, history of repair, and lifetime repair costs. Remaining current and ensuring adherence to all laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines affecting the area of responsibility (DOT, OSHA, RCRA, etc.). Preparing reports, analyzing data, and making recommendations for continuous improvements. Initiating and carrying out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs. Ensuring that all personnel are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated in a positive manner. Communicating regularly with all business owners to ensure business needs are met. Ensuring all tools, equipment, and machinery are maintained. Communicating clear expectations and fostering a collaborative climate with peers and teams. Qualifications 5+ years of operations background in logistics, maintenance, transportation or related field. 3 to 5 years of strong leadership and personnel development experience. Ability to create actionable items out of data and information. Strategic planning, coupled with tactical execution. Ability to work across business lines. Demonstrated project and change leadership ability. Strong negotiation skills. Ability to lead a large group of employees across multiple facilities.
