At Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) we take care of all J&J buildings around the world providing end-to-end services from Real Estate, Engineering & Strategic Project Delivery to Facilities Management. We have a profound influence on the entire J&J Enterprise, providing innovative workplaces where our employees can collaborate and grow, and delivering flexible site solutions which enable our business to best serve our important customers and patients.

The Facilities Management Co-op will support the Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) team at the Cincinnati (Blue Ash) Campus, a Research and Development (R&D) facility that supports the research and development of J&J Med Tech surgical devices. The Co-op will gain hands-on experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, capital projects, workplace services, and compliance-driven operations within R&D and GxP-regulated environments. The role offers exposure to critical infrastructure systems, facility improvement projects, and day-to-day site operations that directly support J&J Med Tech surgical products.

You will be responsible:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of site master plans and facility improvement initiatives.
• Update and maintain building drawings, utility maps, and facility documentation using AutoCAD.
• Support facilities and engineering teams with capital project planning, execution, and project tracking.
• Participate in infrastructure assessments involving HVAC, refrigeration, fire protection, electrical, and building systems.
• Attend project meetings, document meeting minutes, track action items, and support follow-up activities.
• Assist with vendor coordination, contractor oversight, and workplace improvement projects.
• Support GxP documentation activities including change controls, preventive maintenance records, qualification support, and facility documentation.
• Contribute to sustainability and decarbonization initiatives and other continuous improvement projects.
• Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing project status, recommendations, and key findings.
• Support strategic campus planning, space optimization, infrastructure renewal, workplace experience initiatives, and sustainability projects.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aero/Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Etc.), Facilities Management, Architecture, Construction, Management, Engineering Technology, or related fields.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, which is reflective of all college coursework.
• You must not have any Summer Internship contract or other employment commitment that could interfere with the contract dates specified for this position.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

• Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software.
• Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in engineering, facilities management, maintenance, or construction.
• Interest in facility systems, sustainability, energy management, or operations.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, or data analytics solutions.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pay range for this position is between $23.50 per hour and $52.50 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co-Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington, up to 56 hours per calendar year. Co-Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension).
