In office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with working hours targeting our core business hours of 9am-5pm EST.POSITION TITLEAccounting Manager, Investment AccountingPOSITION LOCATIONRichmond, VAYOUR ROLEAs an Investments team member, you’ll play a key role in the innovative investment strategies that enable our company and our financial products to serve our customers and their families when they need us most – now and in the future.Investment Accounting is a shared service organization that prepares all US GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting and reporting for Genworth’s investment portfolio. We partner with the Finance Teams across all product lines as well as participate in assisting in the development and execution of Investment strategies.What you will be doingResponsible for ensuring timely and accurate investments performance reporting, SEC reporting and U.S. Statutory reporting for the organization’s Fixed Income investment portfolioSupervise and review transaction processing and balance reconciliationsOversee impairment and security valuation processes and related controls, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting policies and regulatory requirementsManage high quality deliverables and initiatives to timely completionCollaborate cross-functionally to create efficiencies and deliver superior business resultsLead accounting policy implementation and strategic business process redesign effortsLead interactions with auditors, delivering timely conclusions and proactively supporting routine and new audit requests efficientlyMaintain SOX controls documentation and evaluate deficiency risks through on-going review and validation of key operational processesCreate and foster collaborative relationships with Investments Front/Middle/Back office. Act as the key point of contact and strategic business advisor responsible for providing comprehensive accounting and reporting analysis in support of new investment opportunitiesPerform other duties as assigned ​What you bringBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related disciplineCPA is preferred3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience with GAAP and/or Statutory accounting and reportingAbility to build and maintain strong working relationships across cross-functional groups and communicate complex information clearlyExperience researching accounting guidance to drive appropriate and preferred accounting and reportingExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsOutstanding communication and presentation skillsAbility to manage multiple and changing prioritiesSkills including MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Copilot) ​Employee Benefits & Well-BeingGenworth employees make a difference in people’s lives every day. Actual compensation will vary based on geographic location, experience, skills, and other job-related factors.
