Salary Range: $160,555 - $168,587

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certified as administrator/supervisor with 092 endorsement.
2. Master's degree required.
3. Experience as an administrator and teacher.
4. Knowledge of elementary school student and programming
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO : Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent of Schools

SUPERVISES : School employees.


JOB GOAL:
To provide instructional leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Interprets and enforces district policies and administrative regulations and establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school.
2. Initiates school improvement plan to align with district goals and designs and implements programs to meet specific needs of the school.
3. Keeps the Superintendent informed of the school's activities and problems.
4. Makes recommendations concerning the school's administration and instruction.
5. Prepares and administers the school budget and supervises school finances.
6. Supervises the maintenance of all required building records and reports.
7. Prepares or supervises the preparation of reports, records, lists, and all other paper work required or appropriate to the school's administration.
8. Works with various members of the central administrative staff on school problems of more than in-school import such as transportation and special services.
9. Keeps supervisor informed of events and activities of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to the supervisor's accountability.
10. Maintains positive active relationships with students and parents.
11. Leads in the development, determination of appropriateness, and monitoring assessment of curriculum and instruction of the instructional program.
12. Schedules classes within established guidelines to meet student needs.
13. Administers the approved budget.
12. Writes the grant applications for program development.
13. Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, according to due process rights of students.
14. Establishes guides for proper student conduct and maintaining student discipline.
15. Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attends school-sponsored activities, functions and athletic events.
16. Oversees student activities.
17. Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students.
18. Assumes responsibility for the attendance, conduct, and maintenance of health of students.
19. Assumes responsibility for his or her own professional growth and development through membership and participation in the affairs of professional organizations; attendance at regional, State and national meetings; and enrollment in advanced courses.
20. Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
21. Supervises all professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and support personnel attached to the school.
22. Assists in the recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating of the school's professional staff and school building personnel.
23. Approves the master teaching schedule and any special assignments.
24. Orients newly assigned staff members and assists in their development, as appropriate.
25. Evaluates and counsels all staff members regarding their individual and group performance.
26. Conducts meetings of the staff as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.
27. Assists in the in-service orientation and training of teachers with special responsibility for staff administrative procedures and instructions.
28. Makes arrangements for special conferences between parents and teachers.
29. Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school plant.
30. Supervises the daily use of the school facilities for both academic and nonacademic purposes.
31. Plans and supervises fire drills, tornado drills, lockdown procedures and an emergency preparedness program.
32. Asserts leadership in times of civil disobedience in school in accordance with established Board of Education policy.
33. Maintains complete and accurate records of the program, and from these records prepares such reports as may be required by district personnel or other legal authorities.
34. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month year. Salary and work year to be established by the EHEASU contract.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation.
