Registered Nurse CVICU

Job Summary:
Provides specialized critical care nursing services for cardiac ICU patients, including post-operative care for cardiac surgeries, TAVR, and ventricular assist devices. Delivers advanced clinical interventions and monitors patient progress to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients’ hemodynamic status, vital signs, and respiratory functions continuously.
• Administer and titrate IV medications, vasoactive drips, blood products, and sedation according to physician orders.
• Perform advanced procedures including chest tube management, arterial line placement, and ventilator management.
• Recognize and respond promptly to cardiac dysrhythmias, acute changes, and emergent situations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record (EPIC).

Qualifications:

• Current NJ or Compact RN license required at time of submission.
• Minimum of 2 years recent CVICU experience, or SICU with CVICU training considered.
• Certified in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS at time of submission.
• Demonstrated proficiency with post-op cardiac procedures, Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax.
• Skilled in managing complex patients with multisystem organ failure and infection control protocols.
• Ability and willingness to float within skilled ICUs as needed.
