As a Medical Assistant , you will prepare for each patient visit by preparing charts and pulling notes before their arrival, providing routine support alongside nurses and medical staff, and assisting with tracking tests and lab reports to ensure everything arrives on time and patients are kept informed about their care. You will also assist with medical office operations, including scheduling appointments, coordinating with patients and providers, following up with pharmacies, maintaining medical records, assisting with prior authorizations, and managing documentation. The Medical Assistant may also help manage the inventory of medical supplies, set up machines and testing equipment, and clean instruments and rooms as needed. The ideal candidate has strong customer service and communication skills, an interest in working in a medical environment, strong attention to detail, and previous medical office or administrative experience. Responsibilities Prepare for patient visits, including pulling charts and notes and setting up medical equipment Assist doctors with basic medical care and procedures Schedule and coordinate patient appointments Communicate effectively with patients, providers, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals Assist with prior authorization requests and follow up on authorization status Follow up with pharmacies regarding prescriptions, medication requests, and related concerns Track lab results and other medical reports and ensure they are received and properly documented Call in prescriptions as directed by the provider Maintain and update patient charts and medical records Perform chart audits to ensure records are complete, accurate, and properly documented Assist with medical record pickup and delivery as needed Create, organize, and maintain medical and administrative documents Answer phones and assist with patient inquiries, identifying their needs and directing them appropriately Assist with general medical office management and administrative tasks Maintain inventory of medical supplies and notify appropriate staff when supplies need to be reordered Set up and clean medical equipment and instruments after use Use spreadsheets and other office software to track information, prepare reports, and maintain records Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow applicable healthcare privacy requirements Qualifications Associate degree in Medical Assisting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification desired Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred Knowledge and experience with prior authorizations Experience with medical records, chart audits, and documentation Strong ability to communicate and connect effectively with patients, providers, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities Proficiency with spreadsheets, electronic medical records (EMR/EHR), and other office software Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Strong general office management and administrative skills #J-18808-Ljbffr BRIGHT LIFE ENHANCEMENT SERVICES LL
