This role is responsible for supporting quality operations in a fast-paced production environment by helping to identify, contain, document, and drive resolution of product and process quality issues. Routinely interfaces with production operators, and factory support personnel. Assists in evaluating defect data to identify trends and collaborates with quality engineers to make recommendations on process improvements. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work effectively with production operators and cross-functional teams.Essential Functions:Perform inspections on materials and components per drawings, specifications, and inspection plans.Conduct in-process inspections and first article inspections (FAI) to verify product conformity.Identify, segregate, and control nonconforming material.Support internal and external audits as needed.Communicate quality issues and findings clearly to cross-functional teams.Assist in the containment, documentation, and root cause analysis of defective material in a production environmentProvide baseline quality data to support daily and weekly yield reviewsPerform first-level triage of quality issues and maintain positive working relationships with production operators and cross-functional support teamsCollaborate with Quality Engineers and Operations to manage daily priorities.Perform duties in compliance with documented proceduresCollaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve measurement-related issues and improve inspection processes.Analyze measurement data, generate detailed inspection reports, and recommend corrective actions for non-conforming parts.Develop and maintain inspection documentation, including program files, setup sheets, and calibration records.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of quality control processes.Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining the required security clearance.Experience with GD&T interpretation and inspection methodsQualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent with 3 years prior quality experience, or 2-year or post-secondary/AA Degree and 1-year prior quality experienceAbility to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance which requires US CitizenshipAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with cross-functional teamsBasic computer skills and experience with electronic record systems.Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 32 lbs. as required.Ability to perform detailed visual inspectionsPreferred Additional Skills:Understanding statistical data analysis techniquesKnowledge of quality control standards and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing)Familiarity with ISO9001, AS9100 quality systemAbility to train others in quality control processes and proceduresUnderstanding of IPC standards, prior IPC-610 Solder Inspection certification
