Research Cardio-Oncologist

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an outstanding cardiologist, ABIM-Board eligible/certified. Candidate will be superior in all aspects of Cardiology-Oncology clinical practice and research. The candidate will establish an independent basic science research laboratory in cardio-oncology. This will comprise approximately 75% of their effort. The candidate will also contribute to clinical cardio-oncology and general cardiology care at Clements Hospital, Parkland Hospital, and/or in our outpatient clinics and to training of students, residents, fellows and post-doctoral trainees.Cardiology Division, Facilities & Equipment:Nationally recognized Cardiology Division with more than 100 faculty members that fosters a collegial and collaborative environment with a focus on faculty career development.· Sites of practice include:Ø William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, a state-of-the-art facility designed for patient comfort and well-being where complex tertiary and quaternary care is provided which incorporates advanced technology to enhance multidisciplinary collaborationØ Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas County’s exemplary urban public hospital which provides outstanding diagnosis and treatment for virtually every type of condition or diseaseØ Clinical Heart and Vascular Center, where ambulatory care at UT Southwestern is delivered in a collaborative manner with our allied health care team· A diverse array of specialized services in cardiovascular disease are available to support a general cardiologist’s practice including an interventional program that does complex PCI and structural heart interventions; electrophysiology program (ablations, devices); advanced heart failure/MCS/cardiac transplantation; and programs in preventive cardiology, ACHD, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardio-oncology, hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, sports medicine, cardiac sarcoid, and women’s heart health, amongst others.Research Environment:Research interests are supported by a culture of collaboration with our strong basic science and clinical teams within the department and across the campusInterdisciplinary care conferences that serve as springboards for clinically relevant researchRobust research coaching and mentorshipAdvanced clinical and pre-clinical instruments and resourcesAdministrative, biostatistical, and logistical support Applicants should meet these qualifications:Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or foreign equivalentSuccessful completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiology fellowship program Board Certified in Internal Medicine with an unrestricted license to practice medicine in TexasBoard certified/eligible in Cardiovascular Disease UT Southwestern Medical Center is committed to an educational and working environment that provides equal opportunity to all members of the University community.
