HVAC Data Center Journeymen Mechanic (union)

Job Overview Unlock your potential as an HVAC Mechanic with Johnson Controls. We are looking for skilled professionals to support our fast‑growing HVAC business in North America. Responsibilities Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems. Assist in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, absorption machines, open‑drive screw chillers, and ammonia systems. Provide the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. Advisors customers on solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service. Provide recommendations, solutions, and quotes to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Travel up to 20% to support branch customers for troubleshooting, installation, and repair. Qualifications Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO. Minimum 3 years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors. Experience with mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators and vibration equipment to troubleshoot driveline. Must pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies. Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license. Pay & Benefits Bargaining Unit Position Hourly pay: $58.50, with potential for higher compensation beyond the target range for exceptional candidates.
