Legal Affairs Manager

Ameriprise Financial is looking to add a Legal Affairs Manager to the team! The individual in this position will focus primarily on supporting the Columbia Threadneedle Investments registered investment companies. Under the direction of an attorney, the role is responsible for performing ongoing legal and regulatory activities with respect to the registered investment companies. Key Responsibilities Coordinate the creation, updating, and filing of registration statement post-effective amendments containing prospectuses and statements of additional information (SAIs) (including annual updates and supplements) and other disclosure documents required by the Investment Company Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933, and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Solicit and coordinate input to disclosure documents from business lines (including product, marketing, fund administration, compliance, and investment personnel), outside counsel, and outside accountants. Provide legal and regulatory support for Columbia Threadneedle Investments’ investment advisory business, including support for collective investment trusts, compliance with existing and new SEC regulations, various Ameriprise Financial entities and their related products or investments, and corporate governance matters. Work closely with other members of Asset Management Legal in the General Counsel’s Organization and members of the firm’s various lines of business as part of a team of lawyers and paralegals. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree plus paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree equivalent. Three to five years’ experience supporting an asset management business is preferred. Ability to interpret, analyze, and apply legal requirements applicable to registered investment companies. Mature, professional demeanor. Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to successfully manage several ongoing assignments. Excellent communication, interpersonal, writing, and problem‑solving skills. Dedicated team player. Employment Details In‑Office Collaboration: Employees are expected to work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in‑office time or different in‑office expectations, which will be discussed during the hiring process. Base Pay: The estimated base salary for this role is $73,500 – $129,100 per year. Compensation may vary based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Most roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long‑term incentives. Full‑time, exempt position.
