Senior Business Analyst

Data Migration LeadPay Range: $40hr - $45hrThe Data Migration Lead will manage and facilitate the migration of financial, billing, and tax data from a Cobalt mainframe environment to a modern SaaS platform.This role involves business process analysis, requirements gathering, collaboration with technical teams, stakeholder communication, testing, and supporting change management initiatives to ensure a successful transition to the new system.Responsibilities:Data Migration Leadership: Lead data migration efforts, ensuring accuracy, security, and integrity of financial, billing, and tax data.Business Process Analysis: Analyze existing processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and propose optimized solutions for integration with the new SaaS platform.Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Work with stakeholders to capture and document business and technical requirements, including data mapping, transformation rules, workflows, and reporting needs.Collaboration with Technical Teams: Partner with developers, database administrators, data analysts, and SaaS vendors to design, test, and deploy migration solutions.Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and execute testing strategies, including data validation, system testing, UAT, and post-implementation reviews.Change Management: Support end-user training, documentation of new processes, and a smooth transition to the SaaS solution.Required Skills and Qualifications:Strong understanding of data transformation, ETL processes, data mapping, and SQL queries.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead workshops, meetings, and presentations.Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and experience supporting project milestones and schedules.Minimum 5 years of experience on projects within local government agencies, with knowledge of public sector processes and regulations.Proven experience leading large-scale data migrations, preferably from mainframe to modern SaaS platforms.Preferred Qualifications:Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent certification.Experience in change management strategies for technology transitions.Familiarity with SaaS financial and billing platforms such as Oracle ERP Cloud, Workday Financials, or similar.Knowledge of Cobalt mainframe systems, including data structures and processing workflows.Strong analytical and business analysis skills, including process diagrams, requirements documentation, and data migration strategies.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
